Dissipation in the Flowing Saturated Superfluid Film

Abstract

The flow of the saturated helium II film through an inverted U-tube connecting two reservoirs of bulk liquid has been measured with significantly improved precision over previously reported work1 to provide a direct experimental determination of the intrinsic dissipation in the film as a function of velocity and temperature.
