Phonons and Lambda Temperature in Liquid 4He As Obtained by the Lattice Model

Consider a face-centered lattice with lattice constants d and define a set of operators a i * and a i which create and annihilate Bose particles at the ith site of the lattice. Imposing the usual commutation rules plus a constraint against multiple occupation of the same site leads to a set of hard-core boson operators that can be mapped on a set of spin-½ operators.1
