Analysis of the Adenine Nucleotide Pool in an Oscillating Extract of Yeast Saccharomyces Uvarum
The identification of the regulatory steps in a biochemical pathway is greatly facilitated by the knowledge of the reaction steps which proceed close to their chemical equilibrium. This is particularly important in the case of the oscillating glycolysis. Here, we present evidence which suggests that the adenine nucleotide pool is equilibrated by the myokinase reaction during oscillatory glycolysis.
