Microprocessor-Assisted Breast Thermography

Abstract

Microprocessor-assisted breast thermography allows for a quantitative and therefore a more objective analysis of thermograms.1–4 A low-cost system has been developed which permits:
  1. 1.

    The recording of temperature distributions and their temporal variations in digital form;

     
  2. 2.

    Gray-scaled or color-coded visualization of the temperature distribution on a TV-monitor and

     
  3. 3.

    On-line processing and microprocessor-assisted evaluation with respect to abnormal features.
