Introduction to surface and solid modelling

  • Glen Mullineux

A geometric modelling system is one which attempts to manipulate and display information about three-dimensional solid objects. There are various ways in which such objects can be held within a computer system and in this chapter we review some of the current approaches and try to indicate some of the underlying techniques. These are often extensions of ideas that have been discussed in previous chapters.
