Representation of curves
In many engineering applications, artefacts are composed of shapes bounded by straight line segments and circular arcs. We looked at examples with straight line segments in Chapter 2. Shapes with lines and circular arcs are familiar and easily defined. They are straightforward to produce manually by turning, by numerically controlled (NC) milling machines and so on.
