A Spot Plate Method for Antibiotic-Bacterial Killing Rates
The large amount of material and the multiple pipettings involved in the standard pour-plate method used to derive antibiotic induced bacterial killing curves prompted studies of a method utilizing a spot plate technique. This method produces similar in vitro results and allows for rapid sampling, ease of colony counting, a considerably shortened incubation period and the ability to test several bacterial strains concurrently.
