Summary

Our experiments were carried out on acute, obstructive pyelonephritis in the rat (caused by various Gram-negative rods) and staphylococcal osteomyelitis in the pig. The former model was used to investigate the bac-terialreducing action of, amongst others, epicillin, the penicillin derivatives BAY f 1353 and BAY e 6905, sisomycin, tobramycin, and cefazolin and cefradine. Prophylaxis and therapy of experimental osteomyelitis was investigated by the addition of gentamicin to polymethylmethacrylate. Summary reports of the results of the individual test series are presented.
