Abstract
“Anything Goes.”
Those whose memory goes back to the 1940’s—or those who are afficionados of the music and/or motion pictures of that era—will recognize this as the title of Cole Porter’s award-winning Broadway musical play and motion picture. More per-tinent to the contemporary transportation industry, however, it’s also the rule of thumb applicable to shipper-carrier relations in the 1980’s and, presumably, beyond.
