Direct Methods in the Theory of Nuclear Reactions

Abstract

The paper surveys the current state of reaction theory based on channel strong coupling. The various methods are discussed as detailed examples of the Bubnov-Galerkin-Petrov principle. Variational principles for scattering problems are discussed.
