Pacemaker Techniques for Management of Tachycardias Associated with Preexcitation Syndromes

With the recent explosion in pacemaker technology, there has been increasing interest in the use of pacing techniques for the management of patients with tachycardia involving accessory atrioventricular (AV) connections. In this chapter I will review the theoretical rationale for the use of pacing in these patients, the types of pacemakers that are currently available, and the clinical experience that has accumulated to date.
