So far in this book I have said little about the characteristics of technologies themselves, except by way of giving concrete examples for planning and other techniques. Many of the methods of project management can be considered quite separately from specific technical issues. In fact a project leader needs to develop a certain perspective on technical issues (particularly in his or her own discipline), to avoid concentrating on detailed problems. A project leader’s prime responsibility is for the project as a whole.
