Polymer Dynamics and Gelation

Part of the NATO ASI Series book series (volume 167)

In this talk we will review some of the recent advances in the study of the sol-gel transition, and in the dynamics of the sol clusters. The primary emphasis will be on the experimental literature, but theory will be discussed where it is needed to interpret the data. The first part of this lecture will focus on the kinetics of growth of the sol beneath the gel point, and on a few purely static issues, such as the fractal structure of the sol and the observation of a spatial correlation length in undiluted gels.
