Phase Relations in the In-Bi Binary System to 40 Kbar

Abstract

Three intermetallic Compounds, i.e. In2Bi, InBi and In5Bi3 appear in the In-Bi system, while the In-In2Bi and InBi-Bi eutectic occur at 22 and 52.7 at % Bi respectively. The In-Bi composition temperature diagram shown in Fig. 1 is taken from Hansen [1], with changes between 33–50 at.% Bi [2,3] included.
