HIP Equipment for Industrial Applications

Abstract

Hot isostatic pressing, generally referred to as HIP, has become a primary means of achieving 100% theoretical density in a body. Today, many industries have accepted this process to upgrade the quality of many different materials. Reliable and economical production can be achieved with today’s HIP systems when they are properly designed for a particular application. The subject paper describes the latest state of the art design of HIP equipment. Alternate designs of vessel, furnace, and gas handling equipment also are shown.
