Coal Gasification in Europe

  • D. Seelemann

Several European countries have been pioneers in coal gasification, both for surface gasification from coal mined underground and for in-situ gasification. With respect to the former, mention may be made of the industrial plants employing the German processes, the Koppers-Totzek and Lurgi processes, and in the latter the research conducted for 50 years in Germany, France, Great Britain, and Poland.
