Apparatus for Deformation Tests at Intermediate Strain rates — 10−2 to 102 s−1 — and at High Pressure

Few stress-strain data are available at intermediate strain rates (up to 102 s−1) and at confining pressures above 100 kPa. Even though at least three apparatuses work in this regime of strain rate and pressure [1–3], our laboratory’s interest in obtaining equation-of-state data in this regime dictated that we develop a new apparatus.
