Logarithmic Representation of Frequency Response Functions
In chapters 10 and 11 it is shown how frequency response functions can be represented on Nyquist diagrams. This method will yield very satisfactory results when properly applied. The calculation of gain for each frequency puts limitations on the speed at which the method can be applied unless there is immediate access to a computer. Analysis and design of systems, particularly those in which series compensation is used, can be achieved more rapidly by employing a co-ordinate representation of open-loop frequency responses using logarithmic scales.
