Ductile Chromium Alloys By Liquid-Phase Sintering
Ductility has been demonstrated in chromium-rich, two-phase alloys prepared by liquid-phase sintering. Microhardnesswasemployedtofollow work hardening of the chromium grains and the matrix. Matching of the flow stress of the two phases appears to be an important criterion. These principles have been successfully applied to other refractory metal systems.
