Effects of Process Variables on the Properties of Molybdenum-TZM Alloy Sheet

In molybdenum-TZM alloy, carbon is shown to be not simply a deoxidant, but an alloy addition affecting strength and recrystallization properties. The efficiency of the carbon can be varied by processing practices. For uniformity of sheet properties, carbon in the 0.020–0.030% range is desirable.
