Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) is a modality that includes pharmaceuticals, devices and techniques. Without the proper instrumentation and their proper use, PDT is ineffective. Instrumentation for PDT includes: light sources, delivery systems, fluorescence detection systems and dosimetry devices. All of these devices are important in optimizing PDT’s potential as both a diagnostic and therapeutic modality.
