The Electron-Hole Plasma in Quasi Two-Dimensional and Three-Dimensional Semiconductors

We investigate under quasi-stationary excitation conditions the electron-hole plasma in CdS, CdSe, GaAs and GaAs/AlGaAs multiple quantum wells. The experimental technique is the pump-and-probe beam spectroscopy. We determine the density dependence of various renor-malization effects on the exciton resonances and the band gap and compare them with theory.
