Vesical Calculi in Patients with Neurogenic Urinary Bladder Dysfunction

Abstract

Vesical calculi occur in 28% of adult paraplegics and are associated with hypercalciuria, urinary stasis and infection involving urea-splitting bacteria. The incidence of urolithiasis is higher in children than in adults following spinal injury1.
