Urinary Excretion of Citrate — Influence Of Metabolism and Acid-Base Conditions

  • S. Adler
Conference paper

Citrate, a known inhibitor of calculus formation, is important in the field of urolithiasis, since a reduced citrate excretion has been reported in some idiopathic calcium stone formers1. This presentation reviews the urinary excretion of citrate with special emphasis on the influence of acid-base effects.
