Abstract

Bolivian schools of higher learning offer courses in psychology. The Catholic University of Bolivia (Universidad Católica Boliviana, U.C.B.) has a department of psychology and psychological careers. This department cooperates with the Minister of Education of Bolivia in preparing school psychologists and guidance workers for governmental educational institutions. The U.C.B. grants the degree of license (licenciado) in psychology, which is a lower level, and the higher degree of superior psychological technician (técnico superior en psicología). There are currently over 300 alumni psychologists who have received the licenciado degree and 40 who hold the superior degree.

Based on information supplied by P. J. Carnibella, professor of psychology, Universidad Católica Boliviana, La Paz, Bolivia, and other sources.
