Effect of Neutron Irradiation on the Structure and Microhardness of Different Faces of Molybdenum Single Crystals

Abstract

Irradiation with neutrons of fairly high energy leads to the formation of lattice defects in the crystal structure of metals and other solid materials and thus changes the physical and mechanical properties of the latter. Little work has been done in this connection with metallic single crystals, particularly those of the refractory metals [1].
