Mosaic Structure of Molybdenum Single Crystals

Abstract

One of the most efficient methods of growing oriented single crystals from refractory metals, which has become very frequently employed in the last few years, is the method of vacuum electron-beam zone-melting. It is naturally interesting to secure data relating to the mosaic structure of such refractory-metal single crystals and to determine the influence of various factors on the degree of perfection of the crystals in question.
