An Aeropetrographic Survey of Modern Sandy Deposits
The association discovered in the laboratory between the spectral luminance of sandy-silt deposits and their lithofacies characteristics had to be verified in the field — from the air. For this purpose we conducted the first experimental aerial spectrophotometric survey of sands in August 1957. The work was conducted on an area adjoining the northwest shore of the Caspian Sea, in the region of the Kuma, Terek, and Sulak deltas.
