Evaluation of Spectral Luminance Curves and Methods of Geological Interpretation of Photometric Parameters
As a result of photometry of the investigated rocks we obtain a series of values of spectral luminance factors and from them we plot curves of ρλ, which characterize the reflecting properties of the rocks in the measured part of the spectrum. The shape of the obtained curves may be quite different for rocks of different petrographic composition, but characteristic for rocks of similar composition and structure. For instance, the ρλ curves of predominantly quartz sands and sands of graywacke composition have an appreciably different shape (see Fig. 16 and Fig. 63), i.e., these rocks can be distinguished from one another by the shape of the ρλ curves.
