Articulated mechanical systems: determination of kinematic elements

  • Chapter

Part of the book series: Robot Technology ((RT,volume 1))

Abstract

In Chapter 2 it was shown that there are two principal classes of factors to be considered in an AMS:

  • structural parameters, which are constant and determine the characteristics and organization of the constituent parts.

  • articulated variables, which allow a mechanism to change its geometry; they are directly associated with the actuators and with the controls of the system.
