Applications in Arithmetic

  • A. Fröhlich
Part of the Progress in Mathematics book series (PM, volume 48)

This chapter deals with a particular Hermitian module, namely that of the ring of integers in a tame normal extension of a global or local field, viewed as a Galois module, together with the Hermitian form coming from the trace. It was this application which originally motivated the making of a general Hermitian theory.
