Abstract

By definition, an EMC system, regardless of its level, performs its functions on systems. If it alters the operation of just one element of a system, the whole system still is affected. Accordingly, before any decision is made with regard to functions to be performed, the EMC system consultant must ascertain the types of functions which should be performed in light of characteristics unique to the building system involved, the purposes for which it is used, and the effect—if any—that application of an EMC system will have on system performance and output.
