Level I EMC System: Multifunction Supervisory and Demand Controllers

  • Chapter
Energy Management and Control Systems Handbook

Abstract

Level I control devices are typified by: 1) Supervisory Load Controllers which provide simplified time of day (TOD) and control loop interruption functions, and 2) demand controllers which interface with numerous other devices and systems to limit electrical demand. These control devices are programmable due to the use of microprocessors, and are multifunction controls, providing functions of localized controls (e.g., remote start/stop, optimal start/stop, duty cycling, etc.) in the same “black box.”
