EMC System Guidelines for New Buildings

Abstract

EMC systems should be specified for all new projects which have:
  1. 1.

    More than 8,000 square feet of conditioned (heated and/or cooled) space,

     
  2. 2.

    more than 10,000 square feet of space which is heated only,

     
  3. 3.

    20 or more tons of cooling with compressors of 5-ton capacity (or more) each,

     
  4. 4.

    heating capacity in excess of 500,000 Btu/hour,

     
  5. 5.

    a need for sophisticated control of HVAC, cogeneration, or other building systems,

     
  6. 6.

    a need for remote communications to ensure building performance and efficiency, or

     
  7. 7.

    a need for enhanced control, information management or system integration functions.
