Chapter 5 dealt with the implementation of a system and the setting up of CAD management for the design office as a whole. Chapter 6 discussed the management of the system itself. This chapter moves on to consider the management of design projects. I do not intend to cover all the techniques of project planning and control. Rather I will discuss how design management should differ when CAD replaces the manual methods. The techniques actually employed inevitably must be varied to suit the size and complexity of the project in hand, and to some extent to match the personalities involved.
