Engineers, particularly those engaged in the electrical and electronic disciplines, are becoming more involved in the lightning protection arena, and that is as it should be. While the large majority of lightning protection manufacturers and installing contractors are quality conscious, they and their customers can benefit from a knowledgeable engineer’s hands-on participation in the specifying and monitoring processes.
