Donald W. Boyd is a paleontologist who, between expeditions, teaches at the University of Wyoming. He has made important discoveries there and in other Rocky Mountain states, as well as in Mexico and Algeria. In Algeria, he worked a week while suffering from pneumonia. He stuck it out long enough to make a significant find before flying home to Laramie to fight the infection.
