Workshop summary: What are the applications of our research to ecology and agriculture worldwide?

  • Dietrich Werner

Applications of research in the biological sciences go far beyond direct economic utilization. From the many subjects of this conference, three will be especially emphasized: (i) the consideration of ecological aspects and their utilization in agriculture in general; (ii) faster utilization of molecular genetic and cell phytological methods for plant breeding; and (iii) transferring our experience with agricultural plants to trees and agroforestry.
