Design of a Combustion Controller

The aim of this paper is to show some possibilities of improving the efficiency of the combustion process by means of an advanced controller. For control design purposes a mathematical model of combustion process was developed first. Its response was then compared with measurements on an industrial plant. The verified model was used to design a predictive PI state controller and feedforward compensator.
