An Experience in Curriculum Development
The focus of this chapter is a simulation exercise initially designed by the authors and two colleagues in 1980. The exercise has been used routinely as part of a fellowship program for junior clinical faculty members and has been offered on several occasions at national meetings. Following each use, minor modifications in the exercise have been made. Several educators have taken the basic theme of the exercise and adapted it for different audiences.
