Abstract

Research productivity is the outcome of a wide range of individual and organizational factors. Prerequisites for an effective research career in a clinical setting, as in other academic settings, include the individual investigator’s talent, ideas, and initiative, an organizational unit in which research is an acknowledged priority, and access to adequate resources.
