In any discussion of substance abuse there is a tendency to view patients as a homogeneous entity presenting with similar symptoms and responding alike to treatment. Rarely is the clinician so lucky Specific subgroups have been discussed throughout this text, and this chapter focuses on many of these groups in greater detail.
