Moon’s Influence on the Transfer from the Earth to a Halo Orbit Around L1
The influence of the Moon in the transfer of a satellite from the Earth to a Halo orbit around L1 in the Earthh+Moon-Sun system, is analysed by means of a simple bicircular model for the motion of the Earth and the Moon. The results suggest that using the stable manifold of the Halo orbit, slightly bent by the Moon, it is possible to carry out the transfer avoiding the insertion maneouvre in the Halo orbit.
