Abstract
Air pollution is one of the major environmental problems nowadays. The sources of air pollution are automobiles, industrial plants, and power plants. In many urban areas, the large number of automobiles is the major source of emissions of hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO), and nitrogen oxides (NOx). These substances directly contribute to photochemical smog, acid rain and other forms of air pollution. Concern for the danger to public health and environment has led to emission regulation in western countries [1].
