Abstract
Lipoprotein(a) is one of the plasma lipoproteins with general characteristics of LDL but having as a protein moiety apoB100 linked by disulfide bridge(s) to apolipoprotein(a) or apo(a), the specific glycoprotein marker of Lp(a) (1–3). Thus, the protein moiety of Lp(a) is the apoB100-apo(a) complex. We will here examine the physico-chemical properties of this complex and try to relate them to its function.
