Abstract

The electrochemistry of organic sulfur compounds with sulfur in the various oxidation states differs in many respects, and in this brief survey only a limited number of examples can be discussed. The reactions chosen are meant to illustrate the diversity of the reductions of sulfur compounds rather than to attempt a full coverage. A survey of the electrochemistry of organic sulfur compounds covering the literature up to 1975 is available;1 in this paper we will mostly discuss reactions investigated at later times.
