Heterogeneity of Intact Collagen by Solid State Multinuclear Magnetic Resonance
Molecular structure of collagen by X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy suggests heterogeneity of the molecule in the gap and overlap regions (Fig. 1). Previous 13C NMR data of collagen showed no heterogeneity (Sarkar et al., 1983; Torchia et al., 1985). Therefore we have designed the following two experiments.
