Externally Modulated Hydrodynamic Systems

This report covers a series of experiments on hydrodynamic stability of systems subject to modulation of one parameter. Examples are Taylor-Couette flow with the speed of one cylinder periodically varied and Bénard convection with the temperature of one boundary periodically modulated. Correspondence with theory and outstanding difficulties are discussed.
