Abstract

Located in Illinois, in the heartland of the United States, Diamond-Star Motors is the joint venture company owned by Chrysler Motors Corporation and Mitsubishi Motors Company. The company was created to use Japanese management style in producing state-of-the-art automobiles. This will be a change for the approximately 2, 900 employees who will break from the American traditions of worker “classes” and job specialization by adopting a spirit of teamwork and greater involvement in the company.
