Theory of Groundstate and Transport Properties of a Two-Dimensional Electron Gas in the Presence of a Unidirectional Periodic Modulation and a Magnetic Field

Abstract

In this paper we report recent theoretical work on groundstate and transport properties of a two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) subjected to both a periodic modulation in one direction, say the x-direction, and a perpendicular homogeneous magnetic field B in z-direction, while translation invariance is maintained in y-direction.
